Biography
Olu Obafemi was born in 1950. Home of origin; Akutupa-Kirri, Kabba-Bunu Local Government, Kogi State. Obtained BA(Hons) English from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1975) MA English, University of Sheffield, England (1978), Ph.D English(Dramatic Literature Specialization, University of Leeds, England (1981). Lecturing from 1976 -2020, from Graduate Assistant-to Professor in 1990. Became Head of Department, English, (1990), Dean of Students (1993), Member of Senate and Council (1993-1998); Federal Appointment; Chairman, Board of Directors,NCMM (2000), Board member UITH and NICO, Director of Research, NIPSS, (2010-2015). Fellow, Nigerian Academy of Letters, Fellow, Society of Nigerian Theatre Artists, Fellow, English Scholars Association of Nigeria, Fellow, Association of Nigerian Authors, former Vice President and, Association of Nigerian Authors, former Vice President and President, Nigerian Academy of Letters and current Chairman, Reproduction Rights Society of Nigeria and Member of the International Forum of Reproduction Rights Organization(IFRRO).
