THE HALLMARKS OF LABOUR FOUNDATION ACKNOWLEDGES PROFESSOR EMERITUS AYO BANJO AS A CONTEMPORARY SOCIETAL ROLE MODEL IN NIGERIA, AFRICA AND THE BLACK WORLD!

The President, Nigerian Academy of Letters, Professor Duro Oni, FNAL, on behalf of Fellows and Members of NAL, felicitates Professor Emeritus Ayo Banjo, FNAL, NNOM, on his well-deserved admittance into the Hall of Fame of the contemporary societal role models in Nigeria, Africa and the Black World. This acknowledgement was made on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at a public presentation of Hallmarks of Labour Book 10, by Patricia Otuedon Arawore. The event took place at The Main Auditorium, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The series “chronicles the achievements of Nigeria’s contemporary nation-builders who have invested their adult lives in the service of their fatherland, contributing positively to societal development in very important areas and capacities, through hard work and integrity.” This edition features four eminent personalities, who are icons of our time, including our Living Legend, Professor Emeritus Ladipo Ayodeji Banjo, CON, FNAL, NNOM, JP, HLR— Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan and a trail-blazer in the field of Applied English and Social Linguistics.

We are proud to say that this is another mark of honour and distinction for a quintessential model of civility and mentorship; an archetypal role model in integrity, fairness, humility and excellence, and unarguably a Mentor of Scholars and a Great Motivator.

We are very proud of you, Sir. Hearty congratulations.

Ayobami Kehinde
Secretary, NAL
