Biography
Professor Adéṣọlá́ Ọlátẹ́jú was born and bred in Ìbàdàn, Ọ̀yọ̀ State, Nigeria on May 18, 1956. He is currently a Professor of Linguistic Stylistics and Literary Criticism in the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

He has a B. A Hons degree, second class Upper in Yorù̀bá́ studies (1982); a Master’s Degree in Stylistics (1985); Master of Philosophy Degree in Phono-Stylistics (1989) and a PhD in Linguistic Stylistics (1998) all from the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, University of Ìbàdàn, Ìbàdàn.
Professor Ọlátẹ́jú’s research interest presently is in the language of political discourse; precisely in the documentation, characterization and stylistic analysis of the language of politics and the politics of language, using the example of the Yorùbá language.
Professor Ọlátẹ́jú has published extensively in well recognized local and international journals. He is well travelled and married with children.
