Biography
I was born on the 8th of May 1957. I attended University of lfe (1981). (B.A.) University College, Cardiff (1982) (PG. Dip.)and Royal Holloway College, University of London, (1986) (Ph.D). I have taught theatre arts at the University of Ife, Ahmadu Bello University, University of Lagos and presently, Redeemer’s University. I was also the Director General of the National Theatre/National Troupe (2006-2009). I have written 12 books, Co-authored 5 books, and over 60 published and performed plays. One of my plays Hard ground won the Nigerian Prize for Literature (Drama) (2006). My humble contribution to Nigerian drama is in my dramaturgy which reflects and highlights my philosophy of life. I see the playwright as a story teller, who observes his society and constantly makes comments through his plays about the issues of existence, communal relationships, conflicts and resolutions which point towards societal development.
