Biography
Matthew Iwuchukwu is a Professor of French in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literary Studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). An internationally acclaimed Professor and Scholar with a very successful and robust academic track record in teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, publishing, administration and human capital development, he received his PhD in French from the University of Sherbrooke in Canada, MA degree in French from the University of Jos in Nigeria and BA, First Class Honours degree in French from the University of Lome in Togo. A former Associate Dean of Arts and Head of Department at UNN, former Commonwealth Scholar and Postdoctoral Fellow at Laval University in Quebec (Canada), he gets involved in research in Francophone African literature, literary theory and criticism, language policy in Nigeria, teaching and promotion of French as a second official language, translation theory and practice, and Nigerian literature written in/translated into French.
