PARTICIPATION IN GRANTS AND INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS/PROJECTS: Participated in the African Languages Project (ALP) as Resource Person for Urhobo at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (2005 – 20313; Participate as Consultant on Urhobo in the African Anaphora Project of the Rutgers University, Ner Jersey, U.S.A.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: Chaired and coordinated activities leading to the Federal Government approved curriculum for the teaching and learning of Urhobo at the Basic Education level: Primary 1-3, Primary 4-6 and JSS 1-3.

Biography

Prof. Roseline Oro Aziza (nee Olomukoro) was born in Benin in 1956; studied English at the then University of Ife, Ile-Ife, M.A. and Ph.D in Linguistics at the University of Ibadan and PGDE at the University of Benin. She has taught English, Linguistics and Urhobo courses at the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka since 1999 and became a professor of Linguistics in 2007. She established the study of Itsekiri, Isoko, Izon and Urhobo at the College of Education, Warri and the B.A. Linguistics/Urhobo programme at DELSU. She is the Convener of the Urhobo Studies Association, a body of intellectuals committed to research on every aspect of Urhobo life and land; it has successfully produced a journal: ARIDON The International Journal of Urhobo Studies and a curriculum for teaching Urhobo at the Basic Education level. She has published widely in reputable journals across the globe.
