Biography

Prof. Taiwo Olubunmi Abioye holds a PhD degree in English from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria-Nigeria. Her academic focus in interdisciplinary knowledge and its discourses include Critical Discourse Stylistics, Applied Linguistics, Pragmatics, Media Language, Sustainable Development Goals, Women and Children Issues and English Literacy. She has been teaching and researching at the tertiary level since 1988. She has authored and co-edited several books. In the course of her research work, she has coordinated, organized and participated in conferences, seminars and workshops within and outside Nigeria.
She has supervised scores of undergraduate projects, postgraduate dissertations and theses at Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Ph.D levels, and has publications in high impact local and international scholarly journals. At different times, she has been Head of Department, Dean, Session Organizer, Keynote Speaker, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and State Facilitator. She is a member of several academic, professional and research bodies at the national and international levels.
